An area of personal injury law that too often goes unaddressed and unreported are sexual assaults — rape, sexual harassment, stalking, and domestic violence.

Many people are unaware of the legal avenues available to them when they’ve been the victim of a sexual assault. The Wobber Law Group stands with survivors and encourages any person impacted by a crime of this nature to seek assistance.
The Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault has published the following data to reflect the prevalence of sexual violence in our state:
- “Maryland women have a high lifetime prevalence of sexual violence other than rape, totaling an estimated number of 1,773,000 women.
- An estimated 441,000 Maryland men have experienced sexual violence other than rape in their lifetime.
- Approximately 391,000 Maryland women have experienced contact sexual violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.
- An estimated 420,000 Maryland women have experienced rape in their lifetime, or 18.2% of the female population in the state. However, an estimated 22.3% of non-Hispanic Black women in Maryland have experienced rape in their lifetime, compared to 18% of white women.
- An estimated 329,000 Maryland men have experienced contact sexual violence in their lifetime, or 15.6% of the male population in the state
- A 2014 youth study in Maryland high schools showed 17.9% of Gay, Lesbian, & Bisexual students reporting having been physically forced into sexual intercourse. 6.3% of heterosexual students reported the same.
- An estimated 47% of transgender people are sexually assaulted in their lifetime.”
